Reverend Mark A. Booker
The Reverend Mark A. Booker is the son
of Mr. And Mrs. Roland Booker, born
at
Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls,
Texas in 1960. He is a 1978 graduate of Wichita Falls Hirschi High School,
where he participated in Varsity Football, Track, ROTC, and the National Honor
Society. As a result of his academic accomplishments, he was awarded a four
year Army Scholarship to Prairie View A&M University.
The Reverend Booker was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army in December 1982. After four years of military service, the Reverend Booker returned to Saint John Baptist Church under the leadership of the Reverend Billy R. Delaney, the current pastor. The Reverend Booker served as an Usher, Sunday School Teacher, and President of the Evangelism Committee. He accepted the call to ministry in October 1992. He served as an associate minister to Pastor Billy R. Delaney until October 1995, at which time he was called to serve as the interim pastor for the Antioch Baptist Church. The Reverend Booker was called to pastor the Antioch Baptist Church in July 1996. He served there faithfully until heeding the call to continue his education, Reverend Booker resigned as pastor on August 6, 2000, to attend seminary in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
Reverend Booker, his wife, Debra, and
three children- Mark Jr., Angelique, and Matthew, united with the St. Mark
Baptist Church in March 2001. He serves in St. Mark as a Sunday School Teacher
for high school students and other areas as directed by the pastor. Reverend
Booker is currently enrolled at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary to
continue his preparation for ministry.
